The Institute of Hotel Management – Ashok (formerly AIH&TM) is the Human Resource Development Division of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and a premier Hotel Management Institute. Established to cater internal learning and development requirements of the organization. The institute has evolved into a Strategic Business Unit undertaking professional education and training assignments in hospitality management.

 

With over five decades of expertise, IHM Ashok has built a strong reputation for excellence in hospitality training and skill development. The institute offers specialized programs in Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operations, and Housekeeping Management. Supported by a team of Industry professionals, experienced and dedicated faculty, IHM Ashok delivers industry-oriented, high-quality training that equips students with practical skills aligned with evolving hospitality trends.

 

The institute offers its flagship B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration in collaboration with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida, and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. It also conducts Diploma courses in Food Production Management and Bakery & Confectionery in association with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

 

IHM Ashok operates as a premier central IHM in the NCHMCT framework and has produced trailblazing Alumni who work in executive positions in India & Abroad.

Situated within Hotel Samrat, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi a landmark Hotel in heart of Delhi, the institute provides a sophisticated and industry-oriented academic environment designed to foster excellence in hospitality education. The centrally air-conditioned campus is equipped with digitally enabled classrooms and advanced practical training infrastructure, including specialized culinary laboratories, a simulated fine-dining restaurant with bar setup, housekeeping facilities, and a dedicated front office operations laboratory.

 

Complementing these facilities are internet-enabled computer laboratories and a comprehensive resource library that support both academic and technical development. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

B.Sc. DEGREE IN HOSPITALITY & HOTEL ADMINISTRATION (HHA)

The B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration is a three-year degree program designed to develop comprehensive expertise in hospitality operations and management. The curriculum covers core domains such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, and Culinary Arts, combining academic learning with extensive practical training. The program emphasizes industry-oriented skills and professional development, preparing students for managerial roles in the global hospitality sector. Additionally, it offers strong placement opportunities with leading five-star hotel brands, airlines, prominent QSR chains, retail & facility management ensuring excellent career prospects for graduates.

 

Course Details

Month of commencement – July/August

 

Duration- Three years(Full time)

Accredited by- JNU & NCHMCT

 

Selection – By NCHMCT-JEE in month of April/May (applications open in the month of
December/January)

IHM ASHOK OFFERS DIPLOMA IN FOOD PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT AND BAKERY & CONFECTIONERY

These are rigorous operational & skill based programs meant to create proficiency & expertise in Food Production and Bakery & Confectionery. The program is designed in a way that enrolled students get practical exposure in professional kitchens under the guided mentorship of Industry experts. The program is designed to make students Industry ready for placements upon completion of the course.

 

Diploma in Food Production (NIOS)

 

• One-year intensive diploma program offered under NIOS

• Focus on culinary skills, kitchen operations, and food safety through theory and
practical sessions.

• Covers menu planning and professional cooking techniques

• Hands-on training in modern, well-equipped kitchens

• Exposure to Indian and International cuisines

Diploma in Bakery & Confectionery (NIOS)

• Prepares students for careers in bakeries, patisseries, luxury hotels, and the food

SKILL TRAINING

APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

Development of human resource is crucial for the industrial development of any nation. Up-gradation of skills is an important component of Human Resource Development. Training imparted in institutions alone is not sufficient for the acquisition of skills and needs to be supplemented by training at the workplace. The Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the prime objective to utilize fully the facilities available in the industry for imparting practical training with a view to meeting the requirements of skilled manpower for the industry. Initially, the Act covered the apprenticeship training for the trade Apprentices and subsequently amended in 1973, 1986 and 2014 to bring the Graduates, Technician, Technician (Vocational) and Optional Trade Apprentices respectively under its purview.

Institute of Hotel Management-Ashok, ITDC conducts Apprenticeship training under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
