ITDC organizes Hindi Kavi Goshthi, Cultural Program, and Rajbhasha award distribution ceremony

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the public sector undertaking under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism hosted a Rajbhasha Award Distribution Ceremony 2022 along with a cultural program and Hindi Kavi-Goshthi. The ceremony was organized at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi. Further, ITDC also invited Mr. Deepak Gupta, Ms. Shubham Tyagi and Mr. Chirag Jain, nationally and internationally renowned poets, for the Kavi-Goshthi session.

The ceremony was attended by Shri G. Kamalavardhan Rao, IAS & Managing Director, ITDC. He felicitated the participants and also shared his experience and the importance of understanding Hindi as well as the regional languages. Further, Mr. Rao encouraged the employees of ITDC to communicate and promote the official language, Hind.

Tourism Awareness Programme

India Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) launched Tourism Awareness Programme (T.A.P) for the training of taxi, cab, and coach drivers. The programme was officially launched by Dr. Sambit Patra, Chairman, ITDC, Sh. Piyush Tiwari, Director, Commercial & Marketing, and Sh. Harsh Bhutani, HoD, AIHTM at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi. The training will be conducted by Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIHTM), an HRD division under ITDC.

The 3 days Northeast Festival concludes at The Ashok amidst music, food, dance & unending celebrations

The three-day culinary and cultural extravaganza celebrating the food and lifestyle of Northeast India concluded at The Ashok on Sunday. The festival was inaugurated by Smt. Rupinder Brar, Addl. D.G, Ministry of Tourism, GOI, and Resident Commissioner of Nagaland, Shri. Jyoti Kalash, along with other senior officials from the northeast states and ITDC on 03rd December, 2021. The festival witnessed presence of people across Delhi NCR experienced the unique gastronomical delights and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura in the national capital. The other attraction of the festival included local dance performance by regional troupes, handicrafts and organic spices by the local artisans

9th International Tourism Mart for the North East Region

The International Tourism Mart for the North East Region 2021 was organized by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in association with Nagaland Tourism, State Government of Nagaland at Kohima from 27th to 29th November, 2021.

The inaugural ceremony was held at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima Coffee Table Book of Nagaland Tourism on 27th November, 2021. Day 2 saw North East State presentations, panel discussions on various theme based topics including a high-level Round Table discussion of Secretary Tourism, Government of India with Diplomats of five countries and a B2B session. There was also a session with students from all across the country with the Theme – Tourism: A New Horizon: Interaction with Youth. The session was attended by Secretary (T) and ADG (Tourism). Day 3 included technical visits to Kohima World War II Cemetery, followed by trek to Pulie Badze and Khonoma, the first green village of the country. During the ITM, cultural programme by NEZCC, a fashion show, Food demonstration and live band performances were organized during the meals hosted by Ministry of Tourism.

ITDC-Ashok Events was the official event manager on behalf of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and undertook the execution of all logistics support at the venues for the 9th ITM, 2021, which was a resounding success.

Get ready to relish the scrumptious plum cake at The Ashok, New Delhi soaked in selfless love of children from the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation as they join the chefs in cake mixing

As we enter the season of savouring plum cakes, ginger bread, turkey, roasted potatoes and much more, The Ashok, New Delhi ushered the spirit of festive season hosting a cake mixing event with special guests from the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation. With the hint of cinnamon in the air and hands clad in gloves, the tiny tots accompanied the chefs shoulder to shoulder as they generously added a rich mix dry fruits like nuts, raisins, apples, apricots, dried ginger along with glazed red cherries, orange peel, tutti frutti, black currants, spices and liquors. Both children and chefs worked hand in hand and the mixture was then transferred to jars and has now been left to mature. The mixture will be blended with the cake batter and baked to turn into scrumptious Christmas cakes.The hotel is gearing up for the upcoming festival of Christmas, a special menu will be curated serving the traditional Christmas dinner menu filled with classic dishes and desserts.

Speaking on 16th Annual International Hospitality & Travel Awards, Shri.
