The Ashok’s Two-Day Mango Festival Delights Taste Buds on World Mango Day
The Ashok hosted a Mango Festival, celebrating the tropical fruit’s divine flavors over two delightful days on July 22-23 in honor of World Mango Day. Guests enjoyed an exclusive curtain raiser, plucking their favorite mangoes from The Ashok Lawns’ impressive collection of 350 tree varieties. The Samavar coffee shop showcased a wide selection of mouth-watering mango-infused delicacies, highlighting the fruit’s versatility. The specially crafted four-course meal featured exquisite dishes like Mango Arabola, Kache Aam Ki Biryani, Spaghetti in Mango Saffron Sauce, Grilled Chicken with Mango Avocado Salsa, and Ambia Fish Curry. The sweet finale included Mango Cheesecake and Mango Amaranth Phirni, leaving guests satisfied and delighted. It was an enchanting celebration of mangoes like never before.
ITDC conducts free medical camps in association with All India Institute of Ayurveda, Ministry of Ayush and Safdarjung Hospital New Delhi
The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has joined hands with the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Ministry of Ayush, and Safdarjung Hospital to organize free medical camps at its renowned hotels, The Ashok and Samrat. As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, these camps aimed to provide valuable healthcare services to guests and employees, showcasing ITDC’s commitment to community well-being. With a team of 34 accomplished doctors and para-medical staff, including specialists from AIIA and Safdarjung Hospital, the camps offered consultations, screenings, and health education sessions. This unique initiative underlines ITDC’s dedication to fostering partnerships with prestigious medical institutions for the benefit of all.
ITDC celebrates Holi with the children from Vrikshit Foundation
“India Tourism Development Corporation organized a heart-warming Holi celebration with the NGO Vrikshit Foundation at The Ashok Hotel. The children had a wonderful time participating in a painting competition that was organized by the hotel. Adding to their excitement, the chefs made traditional Holi delicacies incorporating millets which added further nutrition and flavour. The platter presented a variety of mouth-watering delicacies such as Gujiya, Papri Chaat, Thandai, Gol Gappa, Chila, Pav Bhaji and more. To ensure healthier choices, the chefs added nutritious ingredients like spinach and beetroot to create a colourful range of dips. Further, Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Chief Vigilance Officer, ITDC along with the management of ITDC felicitated the winners of the painting competition and also distributed gift hampers amongst the children.”
Navi Mumbai and Vishakhapatnam Duty free shops emerge winners under the motivational scheme run by AITD-ITDC
In an endeavor to promote growth & scalability, Ashok International Trade Division (AITD), an integral part of India Tourism Development Corporation(ITDC) introduced a motivational scheme program that monitored the growth in financial targets achieved by the duty-free shops. The scheme evaluated the quarter & annual growth of all the duty-free shops across 14 seaports operated by ITDC.
At the Motivational Scheme Award Distribution Ceremony held at The Ashok, New Delhi, Shri G Kamala Vardhana Rao (IAS), Managing Director, ITDC, and Shri. Lokesh Kumar Aggarwal, Director (Finance) ITDC felicitated Shri Mukesh Kumar Sharma, representing the Navi Mumbai seaport Duty free shop and Shri A. Venkataramana from the Visakhapatnam seaport Duty free shop who were adjudged as the Platinum Star Performer and Golden Star Performer for their stellar contributions respectively.
ITDC organizes Hindi Kavi Goshthi, Cultural Program, and Rajbhasha award distribution ceremony
India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the public sector undertaking under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism hosted a Rajbhasha Award Distribution Ceremony 2022 along with a cultural program and Hindi Kavi-Goshthi. The ceremony was organized at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi. Further, ITDC also invited Mr. Deepak Gupta, Ms. Shubham Tyagi and Mr. Chirag Jain, nationally and internationally renowned poets, for the Kavi-Goshthi session.
The ceremony was attended by Shri G. Kamalavardhan Rao, IAS & Managing Director, ITDC. He felicitated the participants and also shared his experience and the importance of understanding Hindi as well as the regional languages. Further, Mr. Rao encouraged the employees of ITDC to communicate and promote the official language, Hind.
