Ashok Institute of Hospitality &Tourism Management (AIH&TM) an ISO 9001: 2015 certified Hospitality Training Institute is the Human Resource Development Division of India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. This institute is spread over two campuses, one at Hotel Samrat, The Centre of Excellence, New Delhi and the other at Qutab campus in Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi. The Institute came into existence in 1971 for in-house training of staff and executives in ITDC hotels. Post disinvestment, in the year 2002, it became a Strategic Business Unit for undertaking education and training related assignments in the Hospitality Education. Having more than four decades of experience in hospitality training and skill development programmes, with a pool of experienced and enthusiastic trainers and faculty, AIH&TM boasts of its quality and excellence in training deliverables, particularly in training of Hospitality Areas like Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office and Housekeeping.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

03 YEARS B.SC. DEGREE IN HOSPITALITY & HOTEL ADMINISTRATION (H&HA)

The Bachelor of Science Programme in Hospitality & Hotel Administration is offered by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and the Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU).
The three year Programme equips trainees with the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the hospitality sector.
The Bachelor of Science Programme comprises in depth laboratory work for students to acquire the required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also imparts substantial managerial inputs in subjects such as Sales and Marketing, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Hotel and Catering Law, Property Management, Entrepreneurship Development, and other related subjects.

 

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

03 YEARS BACHELORS OF VOCATION IN FOOD PRODUCTION AND ONE YEAR DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY

India Tourism Development Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jamia Millia Islamia to jointly offer 03 year Bachelors of Vocation in Food Production and One year Diploma in Hospitality through Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the year 2018.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

ONE YEAR DIPLOMA IN ASSOCIATION WITH NIOS

A Memorandum of Understanding between Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (Division of ITDC) and National Institute of Open Schooling (An autonomous organization under MHRD, Government of India) was signed in May 2011 subsequently renewed in 2016 for another five years. The duration of each course is 01 year.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE COURSES IN COLLABORATION WITH AMITY UNIVERSITY HARYANA (AUH)

AIH&TM, ITDC has also signed an MoU with Amity University Gurugram, Haryana (AUH) to launch Diploma and Certificate programmes in Hospitality in October 2018.

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

The Human Resource Development division of India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. is committed to provide trained manpower to the Hospitality Industry and also to upgrade the skills of already working hospitality professionals of ITDC, and other reputed organizations through various training activities across different sectors of the society.

Under the HRD division of ITDC, Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIH&TM) has been facilitating students of various Hotel Management and Business Management schools in getting their training in Ashok Group of Hotels.

PAID TRAINING/ON THE JOB TRAINING

Paid Training facilitates any individual irrespective of age, having an interest in the Hospitality sector to undergo practical training in his/her area of interest. There is no limit on the timeline, thus the candidate can undergo training as per need.

APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

Development of human resource is crucial for the industrial development of any nation. Up-gradation of skills is an important component of Human Resource Development. Training imparted in institutions alone is not sufficient for the acquisition of skills and needs to be supplemented by training at the workplace. The Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the prime objective to utilize fully the facilities available in the industry for imparting practical training with a view to meeting the requirements of skilled manpower for the industry. Initially, the Act covered the apprenticeship training for the trade Apprentices and subsequently amended in 1973, 1986 and 2014 to bring the Graduates, Technician, Technician (Vocational) and Optional Trade Apprentices respectively under its purview.

Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management, ITDC conducts Apprenticeship training under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

SKILL TRAINING

"HUNAR SE ROZGAR"

Hunar Se Rozgar is a skill development initiative of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. AIHTM is conducting courses under Hunar Se Rozgar in Food Production (Multi Cuisine Cook), Food & Beverage Service (steward), Front Office Associate and Room Attendant. AIHTM has imparted training to more than 20,000 students under this scheme.

SKILL TESTING & CERTIFICATION COURSES

AIH&TM is offering a short term skill testing & certification course under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India as per the scheme of “Capacity Building for Service Providers”. This course is for the candidates already employed in the hospitality sector seeking training in the hospitality courses.

CUSTOMIZED TRAINING PROGRAMS

Having more than 4 decades of experience in hospitality training with a pool of experienced and enthusiastic trainers and faculty, AIH&TM boasts about its quality and excellence in training deliverables and particularly specialises in training in the Hospitality and Tourism sector, Soft Skills, Interpersonal Skill, Behavioural and Remedial training.

The training programs are designed, developed and delivered focusing upon the theoretical and practical aspect of hospitality and tourism areas including soft and behavioural skills.
AIH&TM has conducted need based customised training programs for various reputed organizations to name a few are State Tourism Development Corporations, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), National Cooperative Development Corporation, India Foreign Services Probationers, Indian Railways, State Govt. Guest Houses, Punjab Police, Delhi Police etc.

Tourism Awareness Programme

India Tourism Development Corporation in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) launched Tourism Awareness Programme (T.A.P) for the training of taxi, cab, and coach drivers. The programme was officially launched by Dr. Sambit Patra, Chairman, ITDC, Sh. Piyush Tiwari, Director, Commercial & Marketing, and Sh. Harsh Bhutani, HoD, AIHTM at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi. The training will be conducted by Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIHTM), an HRD division under ITDC.
